After acquiring tours and activities software program provider FareHarbor last year and launching options for ebook sports in 150 cities, Booking.Com has pushed its tour offerings mainstream.

Booking.Com is expected to announce Wednesday at a European convention that it is debuting a presentation in 10 European and Middle Eastern cities that enables customers to ebook tours and points of interest on a standalone foundation while not having to book a motel room first.

The pilot software, available in Amsterdam, London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Barcelona, Vienna, Prague, Edinburgh, and Dubai, is available on the website’s metropolis pages. It offers everything from a bypass-the-line ticket to Madame Tussauds Amsterdam to museum tours and hop-on-hop-off bus and boat excursions. The listings are available in forty-three languages.

All tour bookings include on-the-spot confirmations; customers, whether or not locals or travelers, can take advantage of admission through e-tickets after reserving attractions. Cancellation guidelines are a problem for the vendors’ suggestions.

Part of the motive for decoupling point-of-interest bookings from lodge reservations as demand is that the excursions can now enchant locals or people who may have booked the rest of their journeys on another website or from a unique issuer.

“We’ve begun this enterprise leveraging the call from our closed user organization to build energy in supply, payments, and customer service,” said Ram Papatla, Booking.Com’s vice chairman of worldwide reports. “We are pleased with our progress. We are prepared to begin our discovery adventure by establishing the funnel outdoor of our closed consumer group.”

Papalia said the employer gained insights from the earlier points of interest test.

Like rival TripAdvisor and not like competitor Airbnb, Booking.Com specializes in mainstream, touristy points of interest rather than emphasizing off-the-beat tune activities. Booking.Com customers can filter their searches for tours and activities using classes with food and drink, nightlife, families, and amusements, for example.

Speaking at a J.P. Morgan investor conference Tuesday, Booking Holdings Chief Financial Officer David Goulden observed the push to go beyond the middle in focus.
