The High Tatras in Slovakia has been named the first-class destination in Europe to this summer.

It crowned Lonely Planet’s Best in Europe list for 2019, highlighting the maximum interesting locations to visit across the continent.

Described by the guide ebook writer as a “legendary panorama of crooked peaks and plunging waterfalls” wherein brown bears nonetheless thrive, the High Tatras mountain variety also has excellent hiking terrain, boating (or ice skating, depending on the time of yr) on the glacial Štrbské Pleso lake, and traditional hospitality in high-altitude mountain huts known as chatty.
